Zvezda

Cakes! A lots of them! And they're all super delicious. Zvezda is the place to celebrate if you want to eat something sweet and creamy. Zvezda is located near the University on Wolfova ulica just next to the city center's only sushi place Sushimama. Zvezda is often full and you might have to wait for few minutes to get a free table for you and your crew.

When you enter Zvezda from the direction of Prešeren square you'll see the selection of cakes and you can choose your favorite. Remember your choice (the showcased cakes are labeled) and tell it to the waiter when he comes to take your order. Oh, and don't forget to order your coffee to go with the cake! If you don't feel like having cake, you can also order one of Zvezda's delicious sandwiches, ranging from three to five euros.

The interior looks fancier than the price level suggests even though Zvezda is not the cheapest place to have coffee. Elegant wallpapers and neat outfits of the waiters differ from the usual café scene in Ljubljana. The music in the background is smooth elevator music, but at least not the newest radio hits. The waiters are polite and they speak good English. Don't hesitate to ask help for selecting your piece of cake.

Coffee in Zvezda is the usual, although you can alsoa variety of special and seasonal coffees. The seasonal specialities usually have a special price too, so we still recommend drinking their smooth bela kava. Unusually for Ljubljana, Zvezda also has proper loose tea.

All coffees are served with small star-shaped cookie. If you enjoy your stay at Zvezda's terrace watch out for sparrows, because they can steal your precious complementary cookie.
